Staying motivated is not as hard as you think

I know you must have read that headline and shake your head in disbelief. How dare I say that when so many entrepreneurs are struggling everyday to remain focused when they are faced with obstacle after obstacle getting in the way of their success right? But hear me out….. I am not saying that there won’t be days when you do not feel motivated. In fact there will be many. But what I am saying is that getting back on track and keeping that momentum is not as hard as we think if we do some of the following things:
1. Remember WHY we started in business in the first place
Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day running of the business that we forget why we started a business in the first place. Was it to have more freedom? Spend more time with your kids? Be your own boss? Create a legacy? Share something bigger and better with the world? We have to refocus on WHY we started our own business in the first place and let that be the impetus for us to keep on pushing even on the days when it feels nearly impossible. Your WHY should be so huge that it requires you to dig deep within yourself and get uncomfortable until you are comfortable.
2. Get into a routine
Every successful business person has a routine. Whether it is a daily routine or a monthly routine. The point is that having a routine will keep you on track and motivated because it will also tie into your WHY. Some daily routines include morning affirmations, journalling, daily exercise, meditation etc. Get your mind and body into a daily routine so that it automatically prompts you do to do what needs to be done everyday.
3. Stay Committed and Focused
As an entrepreneur, you need to almost have a blind focus on what you are trying to achieve. An obsession with your own success (not with money) that drives you to jump out of bed each day even on the hardest days and push beyond your own limits. Your commitment and focus is what will keep you motivated each and every day as you build the empire that you are dreaming about.
4. Set A goal
How many times have you heard that you have to have a goal? This is tied of course into WHY you started your business but still separate and apart. Having daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly goals will help manage your overwhelm, which is one of the reasons so many entrepreneurs get demotivated in the first place. They look at their big goal and it seems like it will swallow them. But breaking down your goals into smaller daily actionable steps creates a momentum that gets you moving from one stage to the next everyday in your business.
